During World War II, the Type G-3A suit was adopted to alleviate the G-forces exerted on pilots. The intense G-forces affect blood flow, causing blood to drain from the brain to the lower body. When the brain lacks blood, vision blacks out, eventually leading to a "G-lock" state where consciousness is lost. Suits were developed that tightly constricted the body with cords to prevent blood from flowing to the extremities. This bag was included to store that suit. The seams are carefully piped, a time-consuming process, and the zipper is a WWII-era TALON zipper. Although compact in size, the transfer-type Air Force mark and the densely applied stenciling proudly represent the Army Air Force.

Buzz Rickson's is a military brand from Toyo Enterprise, which also owns vintage American casual brands such as Sugar Cane and Sun Surf. Toyo Enterprise has a long history with the military, dating back to its predecessor, Kosho Shokai, which supplied souvenir jackets (such as sukajan) to US military bases. In 1993, they released their first flight jacket. Since then, the military wear they have reproduced, like Sun Surf's Hawaiian shirts and Sugar Cane's denim wear, are all perfectly crafted.
