 The heavy thermal item, a hidden masterpiece with enduring popularity, has been renewed and is back. By changing the fleece fabric, this item is now more resistant to stretching than before. While thermals are typically used as innerwear, BARNS OUTFITTERS has created a thick fabric that is comfortable to wear and can be enjoyed simply on its own. It has been renewed with tough details. This piece, a true symbol of American casual style, features a thick, firm, and skin-friendly fabric that is resistant to losing its shape and stretching, giving it a vintage-like finish. Previously, we used a ribbed knit fleece for sewing, but by changing the fabric and using a double fleece for the cuffs, we've updated it to be more resistant to stretching and tougher. The "Karakan" specification, where threads are sewn through at the side seams of the hem and cuffs, leaving them dangling, was a common vintage detail for sewing machines of that era. This specification is said to have been used to streamline and simplify production during the era of mass production, but now it has become a luxurious specification that requires skill and effort to reproduce the techniques of that time. BARNS OUTFITTERS has created a unique thermal with the comfort of reduced stress on the skin thanks to its familiar flat seamer sewing. Thermal wear made with waffle fabric, which has an uneven surface, is a standard item not only for American casual wear but also for military and outdoor use. The unevenness of the fabric creates an air layer when worn, which also provides a functional aspect of increased heat retention.
