Introducing a special item featuring "Mickey Mouse"!! Items made using "loopwheel machines" are indispensable when talking about the BARNS OUTFITTERS brand. Using a loopwheel machine that has been in use for approximately 100 years in Wakayama Prefecture, the fabric is knitted slowly, incorporating plenty of air. The soft fabric's greatest features are its exquisite tension and a fit that envelops the body. Among these, the T-shirt series called Tsuritenjiku, which has been a standard item for many years in the spring/summer season, can be said to be BARNS OUTFITTERS' masterpiece. The special "Mickey Mouse" item that also appeared last year is back again this year. This time, we've picked a little-known "Mickey Mouse" design that was only sold for 16 days at Disneyland in California during the 1984 Los Angeles Olympics. This design was printed on the loopwheeled T-shirt, which is the star of the spring/summer season. "TSURIAMI" The "loopwheel knitting machine" was developed about 100 years ago, during the Taisho period. The machine is suspended from beams, and the knitted fabric collects below the machine under its own weight. A loopwheel knitting machine can only knit about 10m of fabric per day, and due to its inefficiency, it was phased out with changing times. Today, most of them have been replaced by sinker knitting machines, with only a few remaining. Furthermore, as it is an old machine, it is difficult to maintain and hard to procure parts if it breaks down, making it an extremely rare knitting machine that will eventually disappear. However, the unique softness and firmness resulting from the slow air inclusion and minimal stress on the fabric during knitting are features unique to loopwheeled fabric that cannot be found elsewhere.
