■DELUXEWARE Denim Jacket First Type VINTAGE FIRST JACKET 1949XJ-NW 【2026 Spring/Summer New Release】
![]() The reproduction of the 1949 first-type denim jacket is evident in its construction and form. This vintage style, full of character, is created from an original dry denim born from a "reproduction" environment, using the same vintage sewing machines as back then, and embodying the iconic construction and form of 1949. Denim jackets, originally workwear, especially the early "first type" models, are characterized by their construction and form specific to the era they were made. This model features authentic details of the time, such as a single-sided red tab, the final transitional period of the needle cinch back, the size of the pleat stitching and its alignment with the buttons, big "O" rivet engravings, and iron buttons. We want you to examine its construction and form, including the short length and wide sleeve shape. As a result of pursuing the cotton material used down to the fiber level, American Memphis cotton with matching shape and length was spun into yarn. The changes in dyeing machines that operated on coal (ash from smoke mixed into the indigo dye bath) were reproduced using dye + charcoal. Corn starch paste, which was used as a sizing agent back then, was applied, and by baking the woven fabric in an oven to completely dry it, the "dry denim" successfully reproduces the dry and rough texture characteristic of denim from that era. In addition, the brand has gathered vintage sewing machines (Union Special, Singer, Reece, etc.) from the same era as those used in sewing factories back then. By reviving their functions through genuine parts and overhaul, and training skilled technicians to operate them, the environment for manufacturing reproduction has been established. As a result, the 1949XJ jeans faithfully reproduce the thread count, thickness, number of colors, sewing method, and pattern of the original. 13.6oz Dry Denim 13.6 oz denim manufactured on old-style shuttle looms in Ihara City, Okayama Prefecture, a denim production region in Japan. Based on an analysis of 1940s denim materials, this denim uses American Memphis cotton and corn-based starch sizing. A distinctive feature is the heat treatment where the entire fabric is baked in an oven after weaving. This is a proprietary DELUXEWARE manufacturing method that reproduces the original construction and environment of that era. This pattern is based on the well-known "first type" denim jacket. While retaining the original details such as the folding front, back pleats, cinch back, chest pockets, and collar shape, the overall silhouette has been newly reproduced. Weight: 1050g ![]() DELUXEWARE is the only purely domestic American casual brand in Japan that manages all processes from planning, material development, pattern making, sewing, manufacturing, inspection, and commercialization in-house, based on the ancient philosophy of the era in which vintage wear was created. ![]()
